Stick Man explains Service Asset and Configuration Management in simple language. He says he’d rather drive with a GPS (equipped with live traffic reports of course) than his brother in the front seat with a bunch of maps and the phonebook. And, if your business is only looking at IT assets and not the “traffic” they generate, then you won’t know which roadblocks to avoid and where the easiest and fastest routes are.

I absolutely loved how SACM was explained in this video and forwarded it to my colleagues.
Cheers

That’s perfectly understandable. I’m glad you took the time to watch the video and at least consider it.

This the best explanation of SACM in ITIL I’ve ever come across. I’m co-author of the ITIL v3 Service Strategy book. I worked closely with Service Transition co-author and good friend Shirley Lacy. Both of us would have loved to have worked with the minds behind this SACM explanation.
