If you remember yesterday and the day
before, I was talking about multiple
ways to get your message across to
Reading the message…
Watching a video on the message…
Listening to an audio of the message…
They all have their unique benefits and
it might be good to mix them all up to
keep things from not getting too
monotonous for your viewers.
Who wants to do the same thing over and
In case you do not get that, it was from
a movie called Ferris Beuller’s day off,
which has grown into a cult classic
Funny enough, they just created a
commercial with Matthew Broderick
himself (Ferris Bueller) where he
relives his “day off” that made me
laugh, perhaps you have seen it.
Anyhow, the point I want to make is
you do not want to put someone to sleep
with the same thing over and over again.
Keep them on the edge with different
modes of learning.
Hear it, See it, Do it.
In case you have not heard of this little
saying, this is one of the best ways to
become proficient in something.
First you hear about out, or listen to
someone describe it.
They you see someone carry out the action
or do a demonstration
Finally you do it yourself by repeating
Hear it, See it, Do it.
If you can show them the way with some
short reading, complimented by a video
and the audio recording of the training
they are now going to be stimulating
mutiple parts of their brains and more
apt to develop the knowledge needed to
be able to carry out the task to
Hear it: Do you like to listen to it?
See it: Do you like watching videos?
Do it: Now go do it yourself!

I decided to go open the journal I received from some fellow Peace Corps Volunteers and reminisce.
Now I need to take you back in time a little to give you some background. I was one of six single people who went over in a group of 38 people. There were also 16 married couples that went out that year as well.
Even though I seemed to hang out with everyone, I did spend a lot of time with some of the other singles, especially seeing that 4 or the other 5 were female.
Good luck for me right?
Well, I was doing my thing, while we had two months of training, being the independent thinker…
Being the leader…
Being the one to make a decision or provide suggestions on what should be done…
Well it came back to backfire on me and I was furious.
You see, some of the girls got the impression that I was a BMF.
Now if you are keen on text messaging, you can probably figure this one out.
If you need a little hint, I will give you this much.
They thought I was a Bossy MoFo and hopefully you know what the “MoFo” stands for…more about that for sure in the future
Anyways, I was angry at first and not really why they viewed my confidence and taking initiative as being labeled as a Bossy MoFo.
It also hurt to be thought of this way as well. Makes you second guess yourself sometimes.
It is good to have constructive criticisms and this did lead me to try and think more before I took the lead and made decisions for the group (always with the intention that the groups success was at the forefront)
So as we finished up our two months of training and were headed out to our respective placements hours away from each other…
I was present with a journal…
Now I think I had written every day and filled up a small journal and was working my way through another one, so this was going to be great…
I would not have to worry about running out when I was in the middle of nowhere for 10 weeks at a time…
Even if it was the most random looking Journal, seeing that it had a cat with a bird sitting on its head as the cover art!
I am not much of a cat person.
The fun began when I opened the journal. What the girls did brought tears to my eyes.
Tears of joy and laughter.
On every single page of this book they in one way or another made a different header statement calling me a Bossy Mofo, or BMF.
I burst out laughing and could not stop for a few minutes.
I knew their love for me as a person was genuine by this gesture and till this day, I still laugh when I see the heading of each of those pages.
I have been back from the Peace Corps for almost 12 years now and I still write in that ugly journal with the cat and the bird sitting on its head.
I have come to use it for many things.
Motivational Statements Poems I wrote Quotes from books and lectures …and
Of course, things my kids say that just make us almost roll over in complete hysterical laughter which brings us to the beginning of out letter.
As I look through the book thinking back to all the great times I have had since getting this journal, I find this particular one from about 3 years ago.
My middle child was about 4 when I was tucking her into bed and said you are “tired” to which her response was…
“I’m not a turd, you’re a turd”
And yet another entry made it into the books.
So where do we go from here and how does this relate to marketing?
Well there are a couple lessons we can take out of this.
Lesson #1) How you come off to people might not be as you perceive it.
Lesson #2) Being confident and assured of what you are doing is good when it benefits the group
Lesson #3) Keeping things in perspectvive and having a good sense of humor can help you get through rough times
Lesson #4) Keeping a journal of things that bring back great memories in an instant is an invaluable tool and motivational piece to help you succeed
Lesson #5) Sometimes you have to sit back and absorb what is going on around you. Action is good, sometimes inaction can be better, but do not take this as meaning you are idle and not absorbing everything around you so you are ready to make the move when it is the rigth time.
It is my intent that you enjoyed the story and picked up a gem or two in the short lessons above.
I have been able to put together better emails for you to get you thinking not only about Internet Marketing, but the smaller things in life.
If it wasn’t Daegan Smith, I probably would be feeding you the same BS and just giving you a short lesson and not really developing a relationship with you.
Daegan has been kicking our butts lately in the maximum leverage Course and it is paying off with leads coming in and more people continually opening my emails, like yourself.
I trust everything this man says and I highly suggest you do as well.
To rocking your email!

So that was what my then 4 year old daughter told me when I took her into the men’s room at the water park.
Wow, kids do say the darndest things sometimes….
Hopefully you did not take offense to this!
For me, the kids are what makes me do what I am doing right and right now…
Writing to you!
If there was ever a reason to get involved in online marketing, it would be so that I would be able to obtain a life that let me spend more time with my kids.
I am a full time science teacher and also coach a couple sports so that I can have the money and the health insurance to get us by. The extra money I earn with online marketing goes to improving my business now.
As it continues to grow, I will be able to shift more of that money into my daughters (I have three!) college education fund as well as other major savings for them in addition to retirement of course.
I do it for them.
I stay up till all hours of the night so I can build my business.
I basically am working two full time jobs if you consider the time I put into these professions.
Long range goal…have the marketing take over the other jobs to support us.
I would not give up on the coaching though.
For today’s mail, I wanted to point out the idea of a good subject line.
You opened this email for one reason or another and often it is due to the subect you see and whether you open it now or hold off until later in the week, to only end up deleting it.
One of the most important thing you can do with your subjects is to make them follow some important rule…
Subject Tip #1: Provide some quick stat about what was done. If you share accurate data about what was produced or sold, you are on the right track.
Subject Tip #2: Provide randomness. I think I covered that here extremely well with my subject
Subect Tip #3: Be controversial. People always want to put their two cents in, especially when you are putting something down that they firmly believe in.
Subject Tip #4: Be shorter than longer. Quick phrases that fit in the visible area are best. If you try to look at subects on smart phones, you often do not even see the whole line.
Subject Tip #5: Steal from other marketers. See what lines they used to get you to open their email. If it worked on you, it could work on someone else as well.
When you apply these 5 tips, you will be on your way to improving your open rate.
Now you must remember, you can not just leave it at that. You have to provide some good content inside as well, otherwise, your click through rate will be very low. This is the proportion of people who actually click on your link once they see it.
If you know you are promoting a product of service that works well and you have rusults to share with them, you are improving your chances even more.
I like to add video of me using the product or talking about the marketer as I like to own the products I promote and you might remember that from a past email and/or you will see it again in future email.
A perfect example would be with the new Affiliate Cash Snipers software that was released by my buddies Michael Rasmussen and Mike Mograbi.
I have been helping them out in testing their software which is just $47 through clickbank (Only $37 if you close the browser, click OK then click Cancel (as two pop ups will great you for the discount).
Being true to form, I put together a video showing you all about this and also again how to save the extra $10.
See the Affiliate Cash Snipers video which shows the software in use on my computer as well as details about my crazy bonus offers.
Pay for it one time, and make snipers forever that you can put on any website and soon facebook!
To responsive subject lines,
PS Make sure you go back and see the bonuses as you will not see these from any other marketer out here and they help alleviate the pain you might be feeling in regards to having to shell out some of your hard earned salary.
As you might be just starting
out your business development
you can easily see that there
is a lot a junk out there.
If you have been online for
a while, then you really know
that there can be a lot of
junk out there and people
who may be unethical in their
Let me give you couple examples.
* People claiming to keep your
info private and then sell it
* Marketers promoting products
without any prior knowledge of
* Marketers using tricky
subject lines to their emails
like “Verification needed” or
New commission earned.
* Adding black hat technology
that puts code on your computer
without your approval.
I hope you get my point thus
far. You need to be wary of
what is online, just like
being wary of the unethical
guy who sells you a lemon of
a car, or people pulling scams
looking for up front payments,
who never show up to do the
I want to share something that
happened to me a while back
that gains your trust and puts
you on the right track to success.
But first, I have some truths
for you to ponder today.
Here is the truth right now.
Truth #1: I am not a millionaire,
but I would consider myself a
thousandaire. I have made money
though affiliate sales, usually
of products that I own, or have
Truth #2: I occassionally promote
if there is a product from a
marketer I have been involved with
before as well as I know what you
will expect to receive from them.
Truth #3: I will do my best to
update you everyday…often two times
with the occasional third if I know
there is a live event I want to
remind you about
Truth #4: I am human and my grammar
might be off now and again.
Truth #5:I have a full time job as
a science teacher, bowling and
lacrosse coach…Remember, I am not
making millions yet, but have been
successful thus far and continue
to grow and help others
Truth #6: If you email me I will
do my best to answer accordinly.
A lot of other marketers will send
you to a help desk and you will
never have contact with them
Truth #7: I have spent well over
$15,000 on marketing courses,
software, LLC set up and more and
am willing to share the knowledge
gained so that you do not have to.
Truth #8: You will not get rich, today
tomorrow or next week. I have been
online testing our and educating
myself in all aspect of online
marketing for about 3 years now.
Truth #9: You have to spend some
money to earn some money. Whether
it is through paid ads, hosting
services, autoresponder services
and much more.
Truth #10: being active in groups,
forums and social networks can be
extremely beneficial to your growth,
if you do it the correct way.
There are many more truths to
working online, but we can go
further into them in another
So back to the story I was going
to mention to you that is going
to help build the relationship
I will call it “explosive”
You see, I was a Peace Corps
Volunteer from 1998-2000 in the
Solomon Islands, which is in the
These happy isles, had their moments
where I was not so happy, or feeling
You see, I usally prepared my own
food while I was there. I knew
whether the food was cooked well
enough to kill any harmful pathogen.
I trusted myself.
The question arose in whether I
trusted their cooking and the way
they handled their food.
Anyways, while I was there, I was
able to participate in a few feasts!
The look of those long rows of
banana leafs laid out with freshly
cooked wild pig, reef fish and
harvested river fern and baked
tapioca pudding, still brings
saliva running though my mouth.
The problem was though in who was
handling the food. It may have
been touched by a few people
Then it might have been sitting
for a while with flies hovering
over to get their take, while
students tried to fan them away.
Anyways, the food always appeased
my palate on the way down, though
I usually paid for it later.
You have all been there before…
The cramping, gas and pain.
Yeah, I had them all, but never
as bad as one night after hanging
out with the whole school.
As we sat watching a movie during
our Friday night entertainment (we
had generator run power a couple
hours each night in the jungle) I
started to feel the cramping coming
I suffered through the pain like
you probably have as well, until
I knew it was beyond the point I
should have stayed.
Things were moving in my intestines
like they never have before.
I felt that if I relaxed for even
one moment, there would be an
extremely embarrassing momemt on
I was not relaxed in any sense of
I was able to leave the area where
students were, calling it a night
and headed back to my house.
I never made it in time…
The cramps got so bad, that I
litterally could not take another
step without feeling as though
my inner life was going to launch
out of me.
The sweats came and I tried
to breath slowly…no luck, but the
cramping temporarily subsided.
I started to walk up the hill and
the next wave came even more intense.
The hill had a little ridge path, with
some depressed areas on the side of
There came my welcomed relief.
As this rush of sweat, nausea and
cramping overcame me and I could not
squeeze hard enough to keep from
blowing, I was able to drop my shorts.
That’s what I will call it…I had
so much blow out of me, that I felt
ill thinking about it.
I am thankfull for the fact that
I was in the middle of the jungle
and there were no lights lining
the path to my house.
I quickly pulled the short back on
and made the additional 100 or so feet
to my house where I proceeded to clean
up and go to bed in pain.
Off the top of my head, I do not remember
how long I felt ill after my explosive
episode (I have to go back and read my
journals to get my dates straight) though
this is something I will never forget.
We even had a running joke amongst the
Peace Corps VOlunteers, that “You were
never really a volunteer until you crapped
I had officially made it in more than one
Now, hopefully I didn’t gross you out
or turn you off too much.
My whole point in doing this was to
share a little of myself and let you
know I am an honest person.
I am not one to sugar coat things.
I am one to push you hard so that you
We all have our times of embarrassment
and what makes us stand out is how well
we persevere after this.
In the online world, we might also make
mistakes or have major problems that need
to be addressed. The more open and honest
you are with people, the better your
success rate will be.
So here is one final truth today.
Truth #11: If you are not honest with
the people you work with, you will
struggle to achieve any success and they
might even spread bad rumors about your
